Potomac Speedway Don Breach DNF 19/23
With Rain in the area on Friday and cold weather on Saturday the team drove to Potomac Speedway to try our luck at the Small Car Nationals at Potomac Speedway.

Friday:
Warm-ups did not go so well, we made one lap and blew a RF tire nearly hitting the wall in the process. We made repairs to the car and got ready for time trials.

Time Trials did not go any better! We mad 1/2 a lap and the battery cable came off, shutting down the car. We made repairs once again and got ready for the heat race.

In the heat race we started in the back(7th). We moved up to 4th on the start and were trying for a few laps to pass the 3rd and 4th place car. On lap four we passed both cars and finished 2nd out of seven(7) cars. We then got ready for the Dash for Cash race.

In the Dash race we started out on the pole. We settled into 2nd on the start. On lap two(2) the #92 tried to drive through us, we survived but he received major damage to his car! I do not know where he was trying to go! But that's just the way he drives? We received no damage from the incident We finished 4th out of six cars(6).

Saturday:
Warm-ups went much better this time. No problems!

In the feature we started 4th and held onto the 4th spot until lap five(5). Going down the back stretch all at one time the car stated to lose power and handle bad! We pulled into the pits and tried to find the problem. The team found that the bolts came out of the steering box and we had received a broken mini spool or axle in the rear-end.

We did not finish the race. officially we were scored 19th out of 23 cars.

Oh, to end the story, all year we suspected some cars were cheating! One car in particular was the #92. The same car that tried to wreck us in the Dash race. He came across the finish line first in the 28 lap feature race. But the that was not the end of the story! He refused Tech inspection after the race, thus giving the win to the #12x car. What does that tell yah? Usually if you cheat you get caught! He was obviously cheating that's why he refused Tech. Congratulations to Jimmy Randal for the win!

That concludes our season! We finished third in points this season.

Many thanks goes out to our loyal sponsors as with-out them this season would not have been possible. Hopefully we will have the same great support in the 2012 season. Thanks again to the following:

Potomac Speedway Races Canceled
Due To Rain
Unfortuantly the racing for Friday were cancelled due to the week long storms.

The CRW/RCR #40 car came in third place for the 2011 race season this year. We were just 5pts out of second. We would have loved to get one more chance to move up in the standings Friday but Mother Nature won out.

We will be racing one more race at Potomac Speedway this season. The Small Car Nationals are scheduled for Sept. 30th and Oct 1st.

We may try to run the other car at Susquehanna Speedway in the Extreme Stock class later this month if possible.

Thanks!

Potomac Speedway Don Breach 1st
With threatening sky and cool temperature the CRW/RCR team was once again at Potomac Speedway.

In Warm-ups Don was determined to change his line entering the turns. We made numerous changes to the car to try to get it to handle a little bit better. And it really showed in warm-ups! The car handled great with Don staying higher in the turns.

In the heat he started 4th and quickly on the 1sy lap found himself in 2nd. Don finished 2nd out of 6 cars.

In the feature we started 1st and guess what... WE GOT our 1st victory of the season winning the 20 lap National Qualifier feature event. "This win was way too long coming and I just wanted to thank God for finally Blessing me with this win".

With one point race remaining the Rugged Cross race team #40 finds themselves 5 points out of second place in the standings, The next race will be 9Sept11.

Once again we were at Potomac Speedway Friday the 12th.

As usual warm-ups went well, no problems at all.

We started 10th out of 12 cars in our heat. We quickly moved up until we got spun out by the #117 car. We re-started in the rear and quickly moved back up, and finished 6th out of twelve cars.

In the feature we started 6th and held our own until Don over drove turn one and two and lost a few spots. He finished 8th out of twelve cars.

Next race 19Aug11.

Once again we were at Potomac Speedway for another exciting night of racing!

Warm ups went great with the car handling very good.

The heat race we started last (7th) and quickly moved up. We avoided numerous accidents and finished 3rd out of seven cars.

We started 4th in the feature event and ran OK. We bounce off the wall on the first lap, but keep going with no damage. We finished 6th out of 13 cars.

Next race Friday 12Aug11.

Potomac Speedway Don Breach 10/15
The RCR team traveled to Potomac Speedway on Friday July 29th for a double feature!

The warm-ups went OK with everything looking good.

In the re-make feature Don started 6th and ran well staying up in the front of the 15 car field running as far up as 4th and no worst that 7th. He eventually finished 5th out of 15 cars, We received no damage from the 1st feature.

In the heat race we started 4th and ran real well until the last lap when the car tightened up and we lost a spot. We finished up 4th out of 6 cars.

In the second feature we started 1st and lost one spot on the start. We settled in to 2nd for a while . We got bumped out of that spot and then fell into 5th until... well, then as usual racing has it at Potomac Speedway, we got spun out from behind on the last lap. Don finished a disappointing 10th out of 15 cars.

Matt was not able to race the 40T car.

The Rugged Cross Race team is looking other options for next year as far as other tracks that like to Race and not just run Demolition Derby's on the oval (Hobby Stock division @ Potomac). We traveled to Susquehanna Speedway on Saturday night and checked out the Extreme Stocks. With a few changes we could travel up there and maybe get back to racing. We may also still go down to Potomac Speedway on occasion and compete.

God Bless!

Potomac Speedway Don Breach 11/13
The 40 team drove to Potomac Speedway in hopes of our first 2011 Win on Friday 15Jul11.

Warm-ups went OK no problems.

In the heat race we started 3rd and the car seamed plenty fast. We quickly moved up to 2nd. Then Don got into turn two a little bit too hard and spun the car. The car hit the tire barrier and bent the front end. We retired for the race for repairs - finishing last out of 13 cars.

In the feature, we started 11th out of 13 cars. Then the typical Potomac Speedway Demolition Derby began! We quickly moved up to about 7th then got spun out from behind by a competitor that must have had no brakes??? We then started over from the rear. We once again moved up quickly to about 7th and again received a tag from the rear and got spun out once again. We restarted again from the rear and moved up again to about 6th and guess what? We got hit from behind another time. This time, the rookie that hit me got disqualified! We however should have been disqualified ourselves as we were involved in three cautions however the track gave me a mulligan! We started in the rear one more time and moved up to 6th or 7th. Then one of the cars just in front of me spun with me having no place to go but into her. After that there were no more mulligans! We were disqualified after the 4th incident. We were scored as 12th out of 13 however we should be 11th as the scorer made a mistake. I thought I retired from the demolition Derby circuit but I guess that is what Potomac Speedway has turned into.

We will have this week-end off. Hopefully all of the drivers will cool off and watch some racing on TV or go to other tracks to see what racing is all about as what I saw Friday at Potomac Speedway was not RACING!

Next race is 29July11 when we run two features.

Potomac Speedway Matt Krickbaum 8/15
On Friday, June 10th, both 40 cars headed to Potomac Speedway to compete. Warm ups went well for the 40t of Don Breach, the car went plenty fast. Matt, in the 40 car, had a right rear tire losing air so he didn't handle too well.

In the first heat race, Don started 5th out of 8 cars. He ran very competitive and held his own. He finished 3rd out of 8 cars in the heat. Matt started 2nd in the 2nd heat race. He ran very well and finished 2nd out of 7 cars.

In the feature race, with the 40t car starting 5th and the 40 car starting 2nd, both cars ran well. Matt was running 2nd for a few laps until he was spun out in lap 4. Don, on the other hand was running in the 5th position and moved up one spot... having him finish 4th and Matt finishing 8th out of 15 cars.

Neither car received any major damage so only fine tuning is needed on them before the next race. Hobbystocks are off on 17 June and will resume racing on 24 June.

The Rugged Cross Race team traveled to the track hoping for a good race. The warm ups went well with no problems.

In the heat race the 40t car started 2nd, and got out to an early lead. Don led 2 laps until, in typical Potomac Speedway fashion, got spun out by the 12x car. Restarting 8th, the 40t car finished his heat in 5th out of 8 cars.

In the feature race, the 40t car started 10th and quickly moved up to the 4th position. Ran VERY competitively until, again, being spun out from behind by the 68 car and restarting the race in the rear. Finished the feature race 8th out of 15 cars.

Next race is on 10 June and both cars will be attending.

In the Heat race the 40t and the 40 car were in the same race. Don started 1st and Matt started 7th. Both cars ran well with Don finishing 2nd and Matt finishing 4th out of 8 cars.

In the feature Don (40t) started out 1st and Matt (40) started out 8th. The track was very slick and Don's car did not handle at all(very tight). Matt had trouble with his distributer. Don finished 7th and Matt finished 12th, out of 15 cars.

The Rugged Cross Race Team traveled to the track on 20 May with high hopes of having a successful night. Up to this point, the season hasn't been too kind to us. With numerous changes and adjustments made to the engine, including a new distributor, we tackled the high banks of Potomac Speedway.

In warm ups, the car handled well and seemed to have plenty of power.

In the heat race, we started 2nd and immediately took the lead on the start. Unfortunately, the yellow flag came out and we had to start the race over again. On the 2nd restart, we got another jump on the start and led the rest of the heat race.

In the feature, we started 4th and ran very competitively. We finished the race 5th out of 14 cars.

The next race is on Sunday 29 May.

Friday the 13th, not a lucky night for the 40t team.

Warm-ups went well no real problems. In heat we finished 5th after starting 3rd. Something just did not feel right in the motor. 5th out 7 cars.

In the feature we started 4th and just did not have good power. We dropped out with three laps to go. We finished 8th out of 13 cars.

After further investigation into our problem, we found that we had a faulty distributor. We replaced it and we are ready for another shot at victory Friday 20May11.

Both cars traveled to Potomac Speedway on 06 May on a rain threatened night. Luckily, we got all of the racing in before mother nature turned nasty.

In the heat race, the 40 car driven by Matt started 2nd and finished 4th in the first heat out of 7 cars. Don, driving the 40t started 2nd in his heat also. He ran competitively with the leaders but then ended up spinning out and finishing 5th out of 6 cars.

In the feature race, Matt started 2nd and held his own until he had a tire go down and he lost a lap on pit road thus finishing 10th out of 13 cars. Don started 10th in the feature and ran very competitively with the field. He quickly progressed to the front and ended up finishing the race in 4th place.

Next race for the 40t is 13 May.

Both cars started out running good in warm-ups.

Matt Krickbaum, driving the #40 car, started 2nd and Don started 8th. Matt got off to good start leading the first few laps. Don was moving up from the rear. Unfortunately on lap four, Matt got turned around and Don tried to avoid him but made contact with him. Both cars retired from the heat race for repairs.

Don Breach #40t started 8th and finished 8th of nine cars

With both cars complete and ready to race, we attended the season opening Potomac Speedway car show at the Harley dealership in Hughesville Saturday. After the car show we took the cars to Potomac Speedway for some hot laps.

The 40t driven by Don Breach handled great, however we experienced an oil leak from the oil breathers. We ran two practice sessions and retired for the night after the oil leak continued. We did not have another set of valve covers to replace the one with the bad breather. Not a problem the 40t will be ready for the opening day event on Friday 18Mar11.

The 40 car driven by Matt had some problems as well. Nothing that cannot be fixed prior to Friday's opener. The power steering line blew off and after trying to fix with no luck, Matt decided to take the car out without power steering. The car was a handful without p/s but all went well.

The CRW Flags/RCR team will have both cars the 40t and the 40 down at Potomac Speedway for the season opener on Friday 18MAR11.

On Friday 1Oct10, the 40 team traveled to Potomac Speedway with great expectations built up for our first win of the 2010 season!

Warm-ups went well with the car feeling very good, We seamed to be hooked up very good as well as the power was up!

In the time trials we qualified 4th fastest out of 14 cars, not bad as I have never run time trials before.

In the heat we started 2nd and got out front and never looked back. We finished 1st out of 7 cars.

Saturday we came back for the second day of the Southern Md. Nationals.

Warm-ups went well again, the car was handling great and seamed to have some kind of extra power to it!

The feature event we started 2nd. We got out front from the get go, leading the 1st 21 laps! Then something happened that should never have been tolerated! The #81 car under yellow spun us out. Now this is at least the 4th time this year we have been taken out by this young kid! I was not going to tolerate this anymore, so I took it upon my self to retaliate and return the love and take him out. I know this was the wrong thing to do, however enough is enough.

We both however got disqualified after this.

What a disappointment it was for good week-end to be ruined by a young kid that obviously does not know the meaning of clean racing!

The CRW flags/RCR #40 team finishes up the 2010 season 2nd in the Hobby Stock points.

This season would not have been possible with-out the great and dedicated sponsors of the team:
  • CRW Flags
  • Reckless Rics

Thanks again so much for your support!!!

But out of all the people that I need to thank, the most is obviously God - as without Him nothing would be possible. And then there was my Crew Chief Amy, what a privilege it is to work alongside your daughter as she has made many tough decisions this year and most have even worked! I love you Amy.

With the 40 team throwing a wild set-up under the car this week we went to Potomac with high expectations!

Warm-up went well, car was plenty fast and it handled great!

In the heat race we started 4th and before we even got to the 1st turn we found ourselves in 1st. We never looked back and won the heat race!

The feature race we started 2nd and once again before we got to the 1st turn found ourselves in 1st once again! We lead the field until lap 6 when the yellow came out. While under yellow our right rear tire went flat. We had to make an unscheduled pit stop and eventually finished 7th out of 11 cars.

The feature we started 5th and once again we moved up very quickly. We found ourselves in the 2nd place and then got spun around by the 81 car. We both resumed the race from the rear of the field. We finished 6th out of 10 competitors!

We thought was going to be the night for our first win of 2010!

Warm-ups went well. In the heat race we started first. We lost one spot and finished in the second spot, however we got credit for first as the first place car was disqualified for being too light at the scales. We officially finished 1st out of 9 cars.

For the feature, we started 5th and in 2 laps found ourselves in 1st. We ran 1st until lap 11 when the #81 came off the outside wall and ran into the side of us sandwiching us into the #93 car! We kept the car going, but we eventually received a flat tire. We tried to get back out and compete but we went down a lap and finished 7 out of 9 cars. What a disappointment as this should have been our 1st win!

Once again the team traveled to Potomac Speedway to make another attempt to win our first race of the season. Warm-ups went well with Rusty Altman #93 and myself running side by side for most of the practice session. The car handled great with one minor problem, we jetted the carburetor up a little too much.

In the heat race we started fifth with the carburetor jetted down a little. We ran OK until getting taken out by the #81 car. We restarted in the back and moved up a little finishing fourth out of seven cars.

In the feature race we started fourth and ran in the top four until getting run up the track on lap five by the same car that hit us in the heat race. We kept going... unfortunately there were no yellow flags to ever get caught back up. We finished fifth out of seven cars.

We'll be back on Friday 6Aug10.

Racing on Friday was un-eventful! Very HOT and we had a very late night at Potomac Speedway!

Warm-ups went well with the car feeling good, and all of numerous repairs and changes seemingly working well.

In the heat, we started third and ran well finishing 2nd out of seven cars.

The feature we started third and got bumped around a bit; however, we handled well and seemed to be pretty fast. We moved up as far second and after some contact lost a few spots. We eventually finished fifth out of seven cars.

No major damage and even though we only finished fifth, we were encouraged as we were within just a few car lengths of the lead at all times. We were just a tick off and hopefully with a few more changes this week, we can pick up a few more horsepower and get the handling adjusted a little more.

We tried again to get the monkey off our back and get our first win of 2010!

Warm-ups went well with many changes done during the week. We were not sure what to expect! The team changed the master cylinder and made numerous adjustments to the brakes to hopefully take care of our braking issues. We also changed the jets in the carburetor as well as made changes to the front-end alignment. In addition to that Richard repaired the body.

In the heat race we started third (3rd), ran OK finished up fifth out of nine cars.

We started fifth in the feature after a two hour rain delay. During the rain delay we made some additional adjustments to the brakes to loosen the car up. The race started out very promising! We were in the top four or five for the first four laps. The car was running and handling very well. Then the power steering went away. I fought the steering for the rest of the race and finished fourth out of nine cars.

We identified the problem with the steering after the race, the heim joint on the steering arm locked up. Fortunately, that is just a ten dollar part and it was not the power steering pump, as that would have cost a few more bucks!

Next race Friday 23Jul10.

Racing on Friday was a little better than the last time on the track! Warm-ups went well, with all of the changes we made with the brakes and suspension!

In the heat we started 2nd and led for a while and eventually finished third in the heat.

In the feature we started third and ran competitively and finished fourth.

All in all we were happy as we made a positive stride towards getting this car to finally handle and run up front. This week we will be making some more changes to the brakes as well as the suspension and hopefully we will be ready for that first win of 2010!

Racing on Friday was quite the adventure!

It all started in practice. We got one lap in and the throttle linkage broke! We got that repaired, it was a broken heim joint in the linkage.

The heat race we started third and were competitive for most of the race. We lost ground during the race and finished seventh out of nine cars.

The feature was a whole another story! We started second and held our ground running in the top five for the first part of the race. One of our fellow competitors must not have liked us so he made contact with us all during the race. We even found ourselves sideways going into turn one and two three times, by getting run into by this guy! We then found ourself making contact with this guy going down the front straight away and we both received a flat tire. we got that repaired and finished the race finishing sixth out of nine cars.

The Hobby Stocks are off this coming week-end and will hopefully have a better night on 9July10.

Once again, we attempted to have a good week at Potomac Speedway. Warm Ups went well, the car seemed to handle ok, as it always does on a wet track.

In the heat, we started 1st out of 9 cars. The track was extremely dry. Once again, the car was tight. We finished 8th out of 9 cars.

In the feature race, we started 8th out of 9 cars. We finished 5th. The car was still extremely tight in the turns. It was quite a disappointment after making numerous changes to the car over the past week.

We asked for help from one of our fellow competitors. We had him run our car around the track for a few laps to try and assess our problems. Quickly, he determined that we had a serious braking issue as the master cylinder was not allowing us to have any rear breaks. He informed us that by changing the master cylinder and making the proper brake adjustments, that should fix out handling problems for the upcoming weeks.

We are off on 18 June, we return to racing on 25 June.

Warm-up went OK the car did handle in the warm ups. The heat race was another thing! We started forth and could not get hooked up at all tight in all four turns. we finished fifth out of eight.

In the feature race we started on the pole and the car did not handle at all. We plowed up in each turn and could not get bite in any turn. We finished sixth out of eight.

WE WILL MAKE MANY CHANGES THIS WEEK TO TRY TO FIGURE THIS CAR OUT FOR FRIDAY'S EVENT.

On 30 May, we once again tried to obtain our first win of the season. Took the track for warm ups and felt like the car handled well--no problems.

In the heat race, we started 2nd. Ran competitively side by side most of the race with the 2D car and finished 2nd out of 11 cars.

Feature race started 4th--the track changed quite a bit, and the car didn't handle as well as in the heat race, but did finish 4th out of 11 cars. The only damage was that we lost a bumper. Slight damage was done when we came in contact with the 2D car.

Next race 4 June 2010.

We will try again!

God Bless,

-Don

Racing at Potomac Speedway on Friday was quite interesting!

We had a positive warm-up session! we made some engine adjustments during the week in hopes of getting a few more horsepower, In the warm-ups we felt a little difference in the engine.

In the Heat race we started on the pole. We got out in front and never looked back! We finished 1st out of 9 cars.

In the Feature we started 3rd. The track changed quite a bit. The car was tight in turns 3&4, and loose in 1&2, We stayed out of trouble and finished 3rd out of nine cars. On the last lap, the 1st and 2nd place cars took each other out, and one got disqualified and the other never got across the finish line. What a finish! I am not sure if it was just hard racing or just a little demo derby in the Hobby Stock division?

Next race is Friday 28May10 and Sunday 30May10, yes two races next week-end!

Have a great week!!!!!!!!!!!!

The 40 team was at Potomac Speedway to compete on Friday night once again in high hopes of training the new race car to make left turns!

In the warm up we felt the car was starting to handle better.

We started last in the heat race and had to check up in the early part of the race to avoid a fellow competitor. We lost our momentum and never caught up. We finished 7th out of 12 cars.

In the feature, we started 8th; held our own for most of the race, and about 1/2 into the feature the car started hooking up. We finished 5th out of 12.

God Bless!

With high hopes the 40 team was at Potomac Speedway to try to get the new car to finally handle! Warm ups went well the car seamed to be handling good.

We started third in the heat race. We were very tight and finished fifth. We found that the front brakes were locking up thus causing us to have problems keeping the car low in the turns.

In the feature: we started, we had one good lap, and then the car was impossible to drive. Every time we went into the turn the car shot up and would not handle at all! We continued on and finished the race finishing fifth out of eight.

We continue to try to figure the new car out and get this car to handle as we have plenty of power! Potomac Speedway is once again closed this Friday.

Next race 7May10.

God Bless!

After extensive work done all week on the 40 car, we were very excited about going down to Potomac Speedway and seeing the results! We replaced all four shocks and replaced all four springs, shifted weights around, and scaled the car at the ProFab shop. Thanks to Kyle Lear and Moe Dafino for all of their help.

Practice went well with the car handling pretty good. Don started eight out of ten cars in the heat race. We came up with a fifth place with our car very very tight!

We started on the pole (1st) for the feature. That did not last long as Don got spun out on the second lap. We struggled early in the feature. About half way through the race the car started to handle, but the power steering went out. Don maneuvered the car the best he could and finished third out of ten cars.

No racing next week-end, we will be back on the track at Potomac Speedway on the Friday 23Apr10.

The 2010 season finally kicked off Friday 2Apr10. We went into the night with high hopes with our new Hobby Stock car. The warm-ups went well with no problems to address before our heat.

In our heat race, we started third and quickly moved up to second until a fellow competitor got into right rear and nearly put us into the wall. We received a flat rear tire thus ending out heat race. We finished seventh out of seven in the heat race.

In the feature we started eleventh. We held our own for most of the race with the 40 car not handling good at all! We were tight in one turn and loose in the other. With attrition very high. We finished 3rd out of thirteen cars.

We plan on making numerous changes before traveling down to Potomac Speedway next Friday in hopes of getting that first win in 2010.

Happy Easter to all and will see you at the races!

God Bless!!

The RCR/CRW Flags race team took off to Potomac Speedway Friday evening and we had our first win! Don had a good heat race starting third and running very well finished in third. In the feature race, Don started first and never looked back. He finally got the monkey off his back and achieved his first career win!!!

Many thanks to all the great sponsors and dedicated crew members that made this possible.

In the fifteen lap Sunoco Race Fuel Hobbystock main event it was Don Breach picking up his first ever career win. Breach and Meador (the 2nd place car) would lead the field to the green with Breach taking the lead. Breach and Meador battled but it was Breach leading all fifteen circuits to pick up the win, Ronald Meador second, third Jimmy Suite, fourth Jason Murphy, and completing the top five was Troy Kassiris.
